How does saving our forests reduce global warming?
I'm reading an article from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and it says that 20% of greenhouse gas emission come from the destruction of our forests. So we should save the forests. If we don't cut down all our trees our emissions will be reduced. But how?
Does the actual act of chopping down trees create CO2 or is it because there will be less trees to offset carbon?
