Mary tilted her head then nodded understanding although not truly understanding. Looking down she ate the main course that had been delivered then after finishing about half in a very polite manner she came up with a question. This time the question wasn't a weird or stupid one but rather a quite reasonable one. Mary asked Lynn, "About how long of a journey will this be?" Asking this she then went on to say as a add on, "We know we talk funny but our speaking style has been this way since we were born!" Not even bothering with why Lynn was more powerful Mary just continued to eat her food.

Lynn ate slowly, as she always did. Some habits never die. 'Huh.... I guess the royal life of the palace isn't done with me yet.' Lynn thought with a silent chuckle. She paused in her eating when Mary spoke. She hesitated, wondering if Mary would still go with her if she answered honestly. Of course, it didn't matter, Lynn had to answer truthfully. She mentally braced herself.

"The journey is about three months walking to the east. By ship... maybe a month and a half." Lynn admitted slowly, "If we came walking, your talking style wouldn't be too looked at oddly. Every now and then someone from far away comes in, they always have odd ways."

Mary nodded although really didn't get the full idea that the journey was a full three months long as she was more into her food. She was eating slow while proper like she was taught to do so Mary's food was only half way gone. "Well we will follow you wherever your gonna go Lynn!" Mary said this with a smile tilting her head again. Looking very cute as she had a blanket bundled around her she thought about what she was gonna do on the journey. Still not knowing Mary looked at Lynn rather then space to say in a innocent voice, "What are we gonna do for three months?" All Mary could think of was sleeping while eating but with no real bed the sleeping was out of question.

Lynn smiled at the girl as she ate. She could tell that Mary didn't quite comprehend the idea of traveling for three months. She continued to eat. 'About the same pace as Mary.' She noted to herself, watching the other girl.

"Well, there is a lot of different things we can do..." Lynn said, trailing off as she thought, "Its always interesting, seeing the different styles of clothing and weaponry. Plus, its going to be quite warm. Nothing like here at all." Lynn grinned at that, she knew Mary would love that part of the trip, at the very least. "At one point we actually have to go through a desert. Lynn shuddered. 'I hate deserts...' She thought as she finished eating.

It took another minute for Mary to come up with an answer so when she did there was no hesitation in quickly getting it out there. Of course she waited to completely swallow before saying, "We love the desert! Its warm, great for playing on, and yet far away from everyone!" Seeming very happy now Mary ate just a tad faster so she had finished right before Lynn would. Mary began to wonder if she to should train with Lynn to become stronger. When the thought came by again of training she decided no on the answer.

Lynn shook her head goodnaturedly.

"I knew you would. I know I don't though, too much.... dry." Lynn ended lamely, as she pulled out payment for the bill and placed it at the table. She stood up, covering her mouth and repressing a yawn. Lynn thought about what she was going to do next... and decided to enjoy herself as they were leaving in the morning. " I am going back to the hotsprings, as our last visit was interrupted." She said, winking at Mary, "Are you coming?"

Mary thought about it for a moment then realized she probably wouldn't be able to get a bath or a good soak for a long time. Nodding happily she was rather reluctant though to leave the warmth of the restaurant but after a few seconds she closed her eyes to take a step outside. Realizing it was all that bad Mary smiled happily at Lynn saying, "Ok lets go then we can sleep for a long time!" Turning in the direction of the hot spring she started off knowing that Lynn would be right next to her.

Lynn, predictably, was at Mary's side a she left the building. They walked in silence for a few minutes as they headed towards the springs. Then something popped into Lynn's head.

"So, Mary, its not water that you don't like, but cold?" She asked, then realized how obvious that was and turned red. 'She didn't mind the hot springs, she just didn't like the rain. Or water dumping on her head.' She recalled the last bit without laughter because of the desolate expression on the younger girls face. She looked so very sad. 'She does change emotions very quickly...' Lynn thought with a half smile.

Mary stretched while walking only to yawn while answering Lynn, "We don't like the cold so cold water is something we really don't like cause it makes you cold for a long time!" Thinking that is also brought back things she didn't wanna think of Mary quickly looked away with happy thoughts of warmth. Looking to her left she saw some kids playing soccer smiling a little as she recalled all the times she got in trouble for playing with other children. It did surprise her when the ball was kicked only to roll right in front of her. Mary quickly bent down to pick it up then stood look at the kids. They were all yelling for her to kick it back. Grinning a almost evil grin Mary dropped the blanket around her to drop kick the soccer ball. The ball almost disappeared as it went so high up as Mary stood laughing at her meanness. Turning to continue walk she picked the blanket up and heard the loud slam in the distance as the ball landed on the ground only to pop. Glancing at Lynn Mary asked, "So whats the point of this journey again?"

Lynn ignored Mary's question, lifting her eyebrows at her. 'Wow, I haven't seen her do anything like that before...' Lynn thought, quite shocked. She put her hand on Mary's shoulder to stop her for a moment.

"That was mean." Lynn said, frowning, "Why did you do that?" She could hear the kids yells after them, and was surprised that none of them came running. Lynn glanced back, and saw the dagger glares. 'Those kids are quite inventive...' She thought, wincing at some of the combination of words that they were using. 'I don't even know what that word means...'

"Cause we were bored!" Smiling and completely ignoring the kids Mary was acting like nothing had happened. Usually when she played soccer that type of thing would happen but everyone would laugh not get angry. Shrugging off the children comments Mary looked at Lynn asking, "Why do you care? They obviously aren't poor!" What she was saying was true as all the kids did have on very nice clothing. Smiling at Lynn Mary then just looked up at the sky seeing the more and more of the clouds were breaking away. Although she didn't always act like it Mary is very smart while also being able to profile quite well.

Lynn looks at Mary oddly, but shakes it off. 'I suppose she has a point... but that was just so pointless.' Lynn thought, a little annoyed at her. She shrugged however, and continued to walk to the hot springs without saying anything else. When they arrived the springs, the receptionist just nodded at them, used to Lynn and beginning to recognize Mary as well. Lynn, still not speaking, opened her normal spring and walked in, quickly stripping and sliding into the water.

Mary followed Lynn but instead of going into the water she walked on top of it without even thinking. Going right up to Lynn she poked Lynn's forehead then said, "We will have no problem following you but we ask two things of you. The first being that you please never get silent. Of course the second is that when you get strong you remember that just cause your strong doesn't mean you have to do something." Standing up Mary walked out to leave Lynn on her own. The mood that she had just shown was completely different from any Lynn would have seen as it was serious. Yet at the same time it was almost scary cause of how Mary had looked expressionless with a hint of no fear. The events leading up to this were planned out as Mary's serious side knew that Lynn needed to see that power can be scary, thus the reason for kicking the soccer ball.

Lynn just stared off after Mary for a long time, unthinking. The warm water flowing around her though eventually revived her. 'I have never seen her like that before...' Lynn thought, surprised but not scared, 'She seemed so much more... intense. It was startling...' Lynn brought her head completely underwater, making a tunnel of air to her mouth so she could stay under. 'I wonder what she meant by those things she said...' She mused, missing Mary already, 'Well, she doesn't like it when I go quiet, but what did that comment about power mean...' She felt like she was missing something important.

"Mary..." She said once, under her breath as she stared out the still open door.

Mary had found her way to the lounge where there was a nice big couch that was oh so comfy. Laying on the couch her serious side slowly shifted into her regular happy self as thoughts of less intense things crossed her mind. As she lay on the big couch Mary slowly removed the blanket from on her to fold it gently then hug it tightly to herself. Sighing softly Mary wondered how her life would have been different if her mother hadn't died but if she would be as strong as she is now. Thinking a little more about it she closed her eyes asking aloud, "Why couldn't we a get a kitten?" Then replied after a second, "We guess our father hated them cause they reminded him of mom."

Finally, Lynn stood up. She had only been in the room for a few minutes, but found that, unlike usual, the warm moving waters could not relax her. She was too... worried. 'How odd...' Lynn thought to herself, 'I am not usually the 'worry' type....' She quickly through on one of the robes they have in the spring rooms, not wanting to take the time to put her clothing on.

"I can come back later." She murmured to herself as she walked down the hallway, "She'll probably still be in here... if she's not I'll have to get my clothing..." Lynn headed to the lobby first to talk to the receptionist. To her surprise and relief, Mary was there, laying on one of the couches there.

"Mary...?" Lynn asked tentatively, not sure if the girl was angry.

Mary had actually dozed off completely. When Lynn called her name Mary still didn't wake up probably cause Mary really liked to sleep. Of course it helped she could sleep through a bomb going off right next to her. While the girl slept her mind wandered to places that someone could only ever even get to through sleep. The world was a weird one where everything was pure white even though there were shadows to define objects. None the less it was actually a peaceful dream cause Mary was just laying on a white bed with someone hugging her. It was unknown to Mary whom the person was but she didn't care one bit as the hug was very comforting.

Lynn walked up to the couch... and realized that the girl was out cold. 'She fell asleep that quickly?' Lynn thought, smiling to herself as she moved the hair out of the girls eyes. Then she realized what she was doing, and pulled her hand back. She could tell that Mary was comfortable, so she went back to the hot spring and got dressed. 'Lately, it seems I can't get a proper soak done...' Lynn thought, but she knew she didn't mind. The reason she came to soak was to relax, and she was relaxed. She was soon back by the couch, sitting on the ground with her back against the front, waiting.

Mary continued to sleep on with her very mellow gentle dream. Laying there she woke slowly only for Mary to see Lynn instantly she said, "Boo!" Being rather silent it wouldn't likely scare Lynn just let her know that yes Mary was awake. As for Mary getting up she decided to stay right where she was cause she was warm while comfortable. Feeling a little dizzy didn't help that fact at all of course even if she wasn't dizzy odds are Mary still wouldn't have gotten up. In Mary's head she thought about light things as now she was back to herself all the way with no serious side showing at all.

Lynn smiled as Mary woke up by saying boo. Lynn could tell that she wasn't really mad at her anymore and she was glad about that. Mary didn't seem to be inclined to move, so Lynn stayed where she was as well.

"Good waking, Sati." Lynn said, slipping back into palace cant for the first time in years. She didn't even want to like that at her house with Toby. It wasn't a big part of her life, just habit. 'Could be useful to talk 'normal' again for when I get there...' She thought, then shook her head, 'No, I am not going back as a scared princess. I am going as a skilled ninja.' She smiled at the thought of a priest trying to attack her now. 'They wouldn't stand a chance.' She thought, chuckling softly to herself as she did so.

Mary looked at Lynn rather oddly as she had never heard of this word, 'Sati'. Unsure how to respond to this new weird word she simply asked Lynn in her innocent voice, "Lynn, we do not know this word 'Sati' please tell us the meaning of it!" Sitting up slightly Mary waited patiently for Lynn to respond. Thinking more of what was actually gonna happen tomorrow it hit her that there would be a problem if they ran out of food as hauling even a months worth of food was to much. As her thoughts wondered on how she was gonna do this Mary came up with a few ideas, some of which were very odd and almost silly.

"Oh..." Lynn smiled as she spoke, "Uhh... It means... non blood relative? Trusted friend? That is as close as I can get to the term." She stretched with a repressed squeak. "Did you have a good rest?" Lynn asked, looking back at her with concern as she dried off her robe that she still held.

Mary stood up suddenly then whether Lynn wanted to or not Mary grabbed Lynn by the arms to help her to stand on up. Giggling a little at how silly it was to help someone up whom was much stronger then oneself. Stretching while standing Mary let out a soft moan as her eyes closed to let her mind wander. It hit her suddenly that everyone leaves first thing in the morning so most likely a whole bunch of people would see them leaving. For Mary this wasn't good as her clan was probably already looking for her. "Why don't we leave tonight? No one leaves at night!" she said this very calmly.

Lynn looked at her in surpise. 'The sunflower not wanting to travel in the morning?' She thought, then pondered it more. 'Ah... Traveling in the daytime gets more notice.' She nodded slowly, thinking it through.

"Thats probably a really good idea. I already have everything we need, including a wagon for anything we need. It probably won't make it through the desert though..." She muttered the last part, thinking.

Mary thought for a minute then said slowly, "But, but we don't wanna carry around a wagon! That's so much work!" Looking not so pleased now she looked at Lynn with a 'are you serious?' kind of look. Mary had no intention of hauling around a wagon or pushing it as the only way she liked wagons is if she was sitting on them. Thinking to herself if they could survive on food they gathered the idea of killing a little animal was almost worse then hauling a wagon in her mind.
